Treatment of hypothyroidism
As Dr Suppelt suffers herself of intracellular hypothyroidism with normal thyroid blood tests she is well aware of the symptoms of low thyroid function and the difficulties of getting a diagnosis and treatment within the NHS.
In her clinic she utilises blood and urine testing for thyroid and adrenal disease including TSH, T4, T3, reverse T3, thyroid antibodies, DHEA, cortisol, sex hormones, vitamins and minerals as well as gene analysis for DI01 and DI02 polymorphism.
Dr Suppelt will treat patients with low levels of thyroid hormone in the urine as well as with normal thyroid blood tests but symptoms of hypothyroidism.
Blood tests are ordered by the patients themselves and she recommends www.medichecks.com or www.bluehorizonbloodtests.co.uk
She is also happy to accept your existing blood tests, if done within the last six months.
She treats hypothyroidism with levothyroxine (T4), liothyronine (T3), sustained release liothyronine (SRT3) and natural desiccated thyroid brands ERFA and Armour as well as individually compounded natural desiccated thyroid for patients sensitive to fillers. Individually compounded natural desiccated thyroid can also be more cost-effective.
Dr Suppelt is able to offer microdosing with specially compounded NDT, T3 or T4.
Dr Suppelt provides a special treatment protocol for autoimmune hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s disease) with the aim of reducing inflammation and autoimmunity, which has been very successful.
She does not require a referral from your GP and is registered with AXA but most health insurance schemes accept and pay her fees.
